The Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Hall School commissioned a survey of surrounding land in hopes of establishing a town. The surveyor was to set out one quarter acre lots and suggest streets and roads. The first sheet has two versions of the layout and the second sheet has two drawings of the plan and lots of figuring.
