Mr. Gough did extensive research for an article about the James Adams Floating Theater, published in the Chronicles in the summer of 1989.
He gathered newspaper references, books, articles, oral interviews, photos, etc. He came in contact with Richard Gillespie of Timonium, Maryland, who was researching a book on the same topic. Since Mr. Gough's focus was Leonardtown's experience with the theater, he was not a threat to Mr. Gillespie's efforts and the two men exchanged information freely.
Some years after the article, Mr. Gough gave his research material to the Society. In the fall of 2008, the material was part of an exhibit about the floating theater at the Historical Society in conjunction with a waterfront festival in Leonardtown.Collection
