Description

Black and white photo of the interior of Jean's Sportswear, Inc. A large room with row upon row of work stations. Each station has a metal workbench type frame supporting possibly a wood or plastic table top that may be as much as five feet long. Some of the stations have standard sewing machines, but others have different equipment. Some work stations have wheeled tubs in front of the work table and some have additional tubs on the side. Most of the work tables have large spools of thread above the work surface.The space is lit by large fluorescent fixtures suspended from the high ceiling. Power for the machines appears to drop from the ceiling also. There are widely-spaced vents in the ceiling. It is hard to tell if there is a wood floor or it covered with sheet vinyl in a wood grain pattern. No people are in the picture. Mr. Briscoe apparently had a lot to do with the company locating in Leonardtown, Md.
