Scan of a 3 7/8"h x 2 1/4"w sepia tone photo of John Calistus Hayden in his Confederate Army uniform. He was seated, with his right hand in his lap and his left arm supported on the photographer's chair. He had dark hair cut to just above his ears. He had a narrow face and a thin mouth. His jacket had a high collar, epaulets, and many large buttons down the front. It looked much too big for him. Private Hayden served with the 2d Maryland Infantry, Company B and was killed in action at Gettysburg.
