Description

5" x 7 3/4"w sepia tone photo of Joseph Hugh Dent, Fannie L. Dent, and all four children. The family was seated on the steps up to the front porch of their house in Atlanta. Joseph Dent was at the top left in a dark hat and full white beard. Lettie Marshall was on his lap in a white dress and pinafore. Fannie Dent had on a dotted dress with leg-o-mutton sleeves, a small collar, and buttons down the front. The child next to her [I think this was Ruth despite the text on the verso] had on a flat dark hat, a dark dress and a white pinafore. One step below her was Fannie Jo in a similar outfit. John Francis, an infant, was propped up in one of the fantastically elaborate rattan baby buggies of the period. The neighbors were watching the proceedings from the porch on the upper right. ************************************ Text on verso: in black ball point pen in the upper left corner "Beckie gave us this" and in black ball point pen Jos.
