Description

This is a photograph of the judges of needlework. Seven women, under the watchful eye of Fr. Downey, are examining a rag rug with wide fringe. The wall behind them is hung with dozens of quilts. Two rows of knob and tube wiring are strung across the ceiling. Fr. Downey is wearing a black suit and carrying a light straw hat with a black band. The ladies are all wearing flowered dresses; two of the women wear rimless glasses, as does Fr. Downey. ************************************** Mr. Fenwick's notes on verso: "On Right: Rev.
