Judging sewing at Saint Mary's County FairEntry/Object ID
1995.001.0806Description
This is a photograph of the judges of sewing, specifically a 4-H uniform. Seven women and four girls are in this group. The uniform is held by Mrs. Heard and there appears to have been a ribbon awarded to this effort. The shelves around the room seem to have small pieces of sewing on them and one table has a sign that allows us to infer it represents the 4-H club of Holy Angels School. Some clothing is hung from the ceiling; a knitted vest is the most easily identified. All the women and girls have on skirts or dresses and sensible shoes. One person hidden from view has on sandles. A single light bulb hangs from the rafters. Many sheets of children's art work decorates the wall on the upper right.
