Scope and Content

9 8 1/2" x 11" sheets, 1 folded sheet 9"w x 7"h This letter is from Ann Ogle Key to Margaret Stone, dated June 1, 1847. It is in a small envelope, 4 5/8" w x 2 5/8"h with a 3/4" red wax seal on the tip of the flap. The donor, Karen Grubber, has carefully transliterated the letter and made footnotes to explain each person named in the correspondence. She also made a color photocopy so the letter does not have to be handled to be read. The letter was mostly a plea for Margaret to come to visit and a certain amount of local gossip.
