Description

Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Kirk House. This is a two and a half story house with two inside end chimneys with corbels on the left. There are two gable roof dormers with six over six windows facing the camera. In the gable end of the building there is a widow right near the roof peak and two others at a level with the dormers on the front. On the second floor there are three one nine over six windows with shutters. On the first floor, two nine over nine windows with shutters are on the left and the entry door is on the right. The porch roof has an elaborate pediment with an arch over the door. The roof supports are turned wood and the porch appears to be screened. It is three steps to the ground. On the left there is a one and a half story addition whose gable roof parallels that of the main building. It has another gable at right angles to the main roof in the center and there is a small porch in that space that also has a gable roof. There is inappropriate gingerbread on these roof lines. There is a small two light window in the gable facing the camera. The porch roof is supported by six posts (even though it is a small porch) and there is a door frame. To the right of the porch is a window that is covered with plastic [?] At the corner of the house is an oil tank. ******************************************* Text on verso: "Picture 223.
