Description

This is a photograph of the Leonard Hall basketball team in 1916. The seven young men were in three-quarter view with the shortest person on the left and the tallest on the right. There were only enough players for one substitute! The manager was in street clothes and the players were in knee length lightly padded pants, dark tank tops with a large white band across the chest carrying a stylized LH and knee high striped socks. The player on the right was holding a basketball with 1916 painted on it. The group was posed in front of a large house. Just visible in the upper right corner was a pennant for Leonard Hall. The individuals were numbered in the narrow frame above the image. ***************************************************** Text on the verso: in blue fountain ink "Left to right Zach Fowler 1 John Ford 2 Harry Beitzell 3 Charley Greenwell 4 Louis Baze 5 Dick Greenwell 6 Lester Mattingly 7 Leonard Hall basketball team " in pencil "100% page 10 Charles Fenwick
