Description

This is a photograph of the Leonardtown, Maryland Baseball Club. There is no date on the photo, but other information suggests this is the 1910 team. Mr. Fenwick made an enlargement of a small photo; the smaller picture is pasted on the verso of the enlargement. He numbered the players on the small photo with blue ink and provided a list of names. The men wore light-colored shirts and pants, dark belts, striped sox, and a white cap with a small brim. Two players had dark caps. There was a large dark block "L" on the left chest of the shirt, except one player had an "L" in script and one player had a script "D." There was a standing, and a kneeling row--eleven players, a manager, and a bat boy. A few of the gloves were visible, the bat boy held three bats and the catcher's equipment was lying on the ground in front of the group. ***************************************************** Text on the verso: in blue fountain pen ink "Leonardtown, Maryland Baseball Club 1.
