Description

This is a photograph of the Leonardtown, Maryland Baseball Club in the summer of 1911. The picture was taken in Mechanicsville. Mr. Fenwick made an enlargement of a small photo; the smaller picture is pasted on the verso of the enlargement. He numbered the players on the small photo with blue ink and provided a list of names. The men wore light-colored shirts and pants, dark belts, striped sox, and a white cap with a small brim. There was a large dark "L" on the left chest of the shirt. There was a standing, a kneeling, and a sitting row--nine players, a manager, and a bat boy. Most of the gloves were visible and two bats were laid on the ground. ***************************************************** Text on the verso: in blue ball point ink "Leonardtown, Md.
