Description

3 1/2"h x 5"w black and white photo of the Leonardtown Baseball Club taken in Mechanicsville in the summer of 1911. This is a clean copy of the photo. We have other copies, but they are marked up. There are three rows of young men attired in broad striped socks, light colored baseball pants and shirts, a dark belt and a light colored cap with a small brim. Each shirt has a large L on the left chest. The manager and the bat boy are wearing civilian clothing. Notice how small the gloves are, especially on the dark-haired young man in the upper right. Two bats were on the ground and possibly the catcher's pads. ******************************************* Text on accompanying sheet: "Text on envelope: LEONARDTOWN BASEBALL CLUB 1911 Front row left to right Charles Henry Camalier, Morsel Loker, Franklin Abell, Frank Waters Middle row left to right Benjamin Harris Camalier, Jr., Bernard Abell, Abell Longmore, and Andrew Jackson Spalding Back row left to right Roland B.
