3 3/8"h x 3 1/4"w black and white photo of Leonardtown Public School. According to Mr. Fenwick, it was built by Vincent Camalier in 1859 and this can be confirmed in Camalier's daybook. It was used as a shop by Sam Wallace and as a residence by Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Abell. The building in the photo was a ruin. It had a gable roof and a single window in the visible gable end. There was a screened porch on the right. On the back wall was a single window with an addition that came to the main building at a ninety degree angle. As many as eight steps went from the ground to an invisible door. The foundation was brick and was in poor condition.
