3 3/8"h x 3 1/4"w black and white photo of Leonardtown Public School. According to Mr. Fenwick, it was built by Vincent Camalier in 1859 and this can be confirmed in Camalier's daybook. It was used as a shop by Sam Wallace and as a residence by Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Abell. The building in the photo was a ruin. It had a gable roof with a screened porch that was probably a later addition when it became a residence. The porch appeared to have three bays, with a door in the center. Some of the screening was still in place, but weeds and trash trees had grown around the building.
