Description

This is a photograph of a parade in Clinton, Maryland. Members of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Dept. marched ahead of their apparatus in the center of the picture on a relatively narrow main street. The two men in front carried the department's banner, followed by two men carrying the United States flag and the Maryland flag. Five other men marched behind these flagbearers. The Clinton bank and a small market were on the opposite side of the street from the camera. The road was lined with men, women and children. There were a few people on the roof of the market. There was a four way traffic light suspended over the corner just above the apparatus. In the lower right corner, a small transparent label carried the name and address of the photography studio. ***************************************************** Text on the verso: in light blue ball point ink "Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department James Saunders Duke -- Frankie Connelly (cross) J.
