Letter from Ellen Hayes Stetson to HopeEntry/Object ID
2014.013.0201Description
This letter is in response to one Hope had originally sent to Ellen. It appears as though in Hope's letter she went over colonial Guyther history along with Captain Nicholas Guyther. Luckily for Hope, Ellen had much to share. The first thing Ellen brings up is that her mother's maiden name is Ann Evelyn Guyther. She states that it was her maternal grandfather who newly married, settled in Worcester, Massachusetts. Ellen mentions that she hasn't seen another Guyther before Hope's letter. According to her, her branch of Guythers were always aware they came to America from the Pembroke Dock area of Wales. Following that she brings up that she has a cousin in Wales that she corresponds with that may have some family records of her own.Collection
