Description

This is letter Hope got from a distant relative who lives in Lancastershire, England. It was Erie who was sending Hope all kinds of information about their ancestral lands; especially "Gwydir Castle". It was during after arriving in North America that Capt. Nicholas Guyther changed the family name from "Gwydir" to "Guyther". The originally spelling implies a Welsh connection. Erie goes on to talk about an off-shoot of the Guythers called the Peregrine family and how the family had spread about around the U.K.
