This half sheet of stationery is a typed letter from Mother M. Catherine at the mother house of the Sisters of Charity in Nazareth, Kentucky to Benjamin Duke. Mr. Duke's daughter was a member of the order as Sister Benedicta. Apparently he asked for her to be able to come home, perhaps for a death in the family. Mother M. Catherine said she would try to have two other sisters, Sister Michaella and Sister Margaret Frances, accompany Sister Benedicta. The other women may also have had a Saint Mary's county connection; several members of the Sisters of Charity were from the county.
