Not exactly sure how Hope obtained this letter but it's from a J. Spence Howard who was a civil and consulting Engineer in Baltimore to a Mrs. Frank Vincent Henry. In it he mentions he's replying to her letter about information about St. Jerome's Creek. He goes on to explain it's a tributary near the bay and other nearby locations. He closes his letter saying he wishes how Mrs. Frank Vincent Henry would give him some old sheep skin deeds so they could put them in glass cases in the State House at St. Mary's City.
