This is an 8"h x 10"w sepia tone photo of Lettie Dent as Margaret Brent for the 1934 Tercentenary of Maryland pageant. She was standing in front of the portico at Tudor Hall. She had on some kind of soft oversize beret with a large white feather that laid across her brow. Her dress was a dark velvet with a wide neck, a weskit effect, squared panels on a peplum, and a white underskirt. There were white puffy sleeves on the garment. There were three? rows of what looked like rick-rack around the neck, in a chevron effect on the weskit and the underskirt, and down the front edge of the overgarment and around its hem. She was holding the skirt of the dress away from her body as if preparing to curtsey. She had a piece of dark jewelry on a chain around her neck. Six women, three on a side, formed lines and were curtseying to Ms. Brent. These women each wore a white caps and wore white short sleeved blouses, vests, except one, dirndl skirts and white aprons. The outfits looked vaguely German or Swiss. This was probably a publicity photo for the Tercentenary.
