Lettie Dent portraying Margaret Brent at St. Mary's City with Mary BrentEntry/Object ID

This is an 4 3/4"h x 3 1/4"w black and white photo of Lettie Dent as Margaret Brent at the 1934 Tercentenary of Maryland pageant in St. Mary's City. She was standing in front of a picket fence. She had on some kind of soft oversize beret with a large white feather that laid across her brow. Her dress was a dark velvet with a wide neck, a weskit effect, squared panels on a peplum, and a white underskirt. There were white puffy sleeves on the garment. There were rows of what looked like rick-rack around the neck, in a chevron effect on the weskit and the underskirt, and down the front edge of the overgarment and around its hem. Next to her was a young girl dressed in a Native American outfit and also a young woman in period costume. Perhaps they were supposed to represent a before and after of Mary, daughter of Kittamaquand.
