Little Red Schoolhouse fire damage 2Entry/Object ID
2014.009.0136Description
8 3/4"h x 7 7/8"w black and white photo on heavy paper of fire damage to the Little Red Schoolhouse in 1965. One wing of the building burned; the photographer was too close to the building so we can't tell which part was destroyed. The building had dark [red?] clapboard with white windows and a shingled roof. The remaining windows were six over six double hung. The plywood that was in place to protect the remains in March had been removed. A patch was on the roof where the cricket had been. Henry Fowler, the owner of the building, was standing in the space that had been a door. Charred lath was directly above him.
