3 1/2" x 5 3/4" black and white photo of Locust Hill in Port Tobacco in Charles County. This view shows the gable end without chimneys. The house is two and a half stories with a gambrel roof. The siding is unpainted? clapboard. There appears to be a small two-over-two light window in the attic, two six-over-six light windows on the second floor, and two nine-over-nine windows on the first floor. There is a front porch whose closed end shed roof is incorporated into the house roof, as is the roof over a room in the back. The porch is supported on brick posts and open to the elements. Immediately behind the front porch is a gable roof enclosure that is probably the entrance to the basement. There are two windows or grilles in the foundation. At the back of the gable end is a long narrow lean-to with a small rectangular opening in the long wall.
