3 1/2" x 5 3/4" black and white photo of Locust Hill in Port Tobacco in Charles County. This view shows the back and one gable end. There are two large chimneys with the large pent between them. The chimney on the left is larger. The right chimney is slimmer. There is an eight-light opening in the pent. There is a small square four-light window just to the left of center near the roof peak. The gambrel roof also incorporates a shed roof over the front porch and a shed roof over the rooms on the back. Immediately to the right of the smaller chimney is a door with a six light transom window over it. There is a rectangular eight-light window to the right of the door. Above that window is a slender inside end chimney that is no higher than the break in the roof. There is a single dormer on the second floor with a six-over-six light window. There are two windows on the first floor with four-over-four lights. There is a sizable lean-to on the far end of the first floor. Laundry is on the line across the back yard. A large dinner bell is high on a pole near the corner of the yard. There is a small shed roof outbuilding in the far right side of the photo.
