Albert Lomax owned hotels in Hughesville and LaPlata. When Hotel St. Mary's was available in a tax sale, he bought it and sent Eleanor Shadrick to run it. He sold his other establishments and focussed on Hotel St. Mary's. Mrs. Shadrick was a widow and eventually married Mr. Lomax. This photo showed the dining room of the hotel, the Lomaxes, and their staff. Sadly, the staff were not identified. The photo was in a scrapbook, so any information on the verso was concealed. ************************************ Text on verso: not visibleCollection
