Long Lane Farm in 1972Entry/Object ID
1995.001.1693Description
Black and white photo 8"h x 10"w of Long Lane Farm house in a completely ruined state. This farm was just south of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station whose buildings are visible in the deep background. The seawall in front of the house has been topped many times and sags into the surf. The grass is tall. There was a screened porch on the front of the house, a large entry door on the gable end, and a large chimney on the far end. The roof has collapsed and the chimney stands alone on the far end of the house. A small outbuilding is barely visible through the reeds. This is generally a picture of destruction. Reeds frame the scene in the foreground.
