This 8 1/2"h x 6 3/4"w x 1/2" thick dark maroon copybook belong to Margaret "Maggie" Linehan when she was a young student at St. Edward's Academy in Cumberland, Maryland. Margaret went on to be the wife of Dr. Francis F. Greenwell of Leonardtown.
The book has heavy cardboard covers with a brighter maroon tape spine. The covers are completely disengaged from the text bloc and that is not doing very well, either.
Cover P. 1 has a pebbly texture, so the high points have worn to white. There is a dark stain near the middle of the cover.
Cover P. 2 In the upper left corner, the price of $3 is written in ink. Near the top edge is written "List" but the rest of the text is either illegible or doesn't make sense
