Description

The Courts were selected to be photographed for a USDA Extension Service filmstrip about self-sufficiency on the farm--grow and preserve your own food to obviate the need for cash. This is a black and white photo. Photo 9. Mrs. Court is demonstrating making cheese. There are two dishes of cheese on the kitchen table and a large half wheel on the right. On the far left may be a dish of salt or else curds waiting to be hung to drip. Mrs. Court is hanging curds in a cheesecloth bag so they will drip whey into a 13"x9" pan. There is a large square glass jar fitted with a cover and a geared handle to turn paddles in the jar. The kitchen sink is in front of her and to the left, with shelves above it.
