The 1st group is 118 pages of research notes. There are several sub-groupings, for instance, references to individual priests in the Archives of Maryland.
In subsequent groups, the most usual focus is a foreword, chapter, or epilogue of the book. Occasionally there will be a letter submitting material to either Father Daly or Father McSorley. Corrected and revised Notes sections were also clipped together. Most of the material is in typescript, but there are still lots of handwritten corrections.
It is very difficult to tell what is the original edition and what is the 1959 version. There is nothing here to explain a 10 year delay in publication.
