This is a photostatic copy of an aerial view of Hammond Hospital and the Point Lookout Prison Camp for Confederates. The legend numbers run from 1-63, including the lighthouse, the hospital, the officers quarters, the camps of the Union soldiers, the prison area, the cemetery, and the smallpox hospital. Many of the numbers are impossible to read. The view shows several sailing ships and side-wheel steamers in the Potomac River. The wharf was on the Potomac side. This piece was copied from the original held by the Map Division of the Library of Congress.Collection
