1956.001.0071Description
4"h x 6"w vaguely sepia tone photo of Margaret Brent High School when it was brand new in September 1936. It was a substantial single story brick building with a flat roof on the wings and a gable roof on the slightly higher center portion. The entry doors on each visible side were in a round archway. On the long wall, there were four groups of five twelve light double hung windows, two groups on each side of the entry. In the center part, there was a single nine light double hung window on each side of the door. On the near end there were four high, possibly six light, windows, a pair on each side of the door. A few chimneys and vent stacks were visible. The ground immediately around the building appeared to be dirt and there were no trees at all. See also 1956.001.0067
