This memory book had no covers when found in the back of the remains of the red velvet photograph album. It appears to be a book of poetry selections inscribed for Margaret by her friends and possibly relatives. Most of the text is too faded to read and there are few dates. One is March 21, 1848. There are several sentimental engravings scattered through the pages. Margaret and her friends may have attended the Academy of the Visitation in Baltimore--it is mentioned a few times in the book. This book has suffered and the ink has failed in many locations. Names legible include Bettie, Millicent Wilson, Lally, Sarah, Mary H. Evans, Lizzie, E. Greenwell, Nannie, Susan, and Anna. Very few young women included their entire name.Collection
