Mrs. Marsh was born Rachel Fairbanks in St. Michaels, Maryland. She married Milford Seymour, who together with his mentor Nina Howard, owned the former James Adams Floating Theatre. Mrs. Howard and Mr. Seymour called it the Original Floating Theater. Rachel was with the show boat for eight years as Rachel Jewell. She had a daughter, but her marriage ended. She worked in Annapolis and eventually married Benjamin Marsh. They lived in St. Michaels. She visited Tudor Hall at the age of 95 for the first day of the floating theater exhibit and told us more about life on the barge. There is a small photo of Mrs. Marsh during her visit.
