This is an almanac for 1856, titled Maryland Almanac. It was published by T. Newton Kurtz, a publisher and bookseller in Baltimore. It has a list of astronomical and astrological events and signs, and a pair of pages for each month with an elaborate calendar on one page and an article about various topics and sometimes a humorous story on the other page. On p. 32 and 33 are lists of justices of the Maryland and Virginia courts. There are thirty-four pages in all, with a dark teal paper wrapper over the spine. The owner put a double loop of heavy thread in the upper left corner so the book could hang from a nail.Collection
