Description

8"h x 10 5/8"w black and white photocopy of a photo. There is no date for the photo. This shows the ledger stone for Matilda Thomas Forbes vault. On the left, or top, of the stone is an indentation with carving in it. The name on the stone is just visible, but the other text is illegible. The vault appears to be incomplete. There are two courses of brick under the ledger stone, but the whole appears to be resting on the ground. The corner brick next to the ground is completely loose and mortar is missing from other joints. There is a heavy black stain on the bullnose of the stone on the far left edge. There are six loose bricks neatly lined up near the next vault over. Note the empty corncob in the foreground. This is at the cemetery at Deep Falls. ********************************** Text on verso: none
