Description

This 8"h x 10"w color photo is of Mattapany on the grounds of the Patuxent River Naval Air Warfare Center. There had been a terrific ice storm, so Lt. Riley took pictures of the shiny landscape. This view was of the main entrance to the house. There was a five bar fence separating the house from the road with a circular? drive to bring guests to the door. The central block of the house was two and a half stories with three dormers in the roof . The central entrance was obscured by a tree. There was a two story addition on the right. There was a pyramid roof outbuilding on the far right. ******************************* Text on verso: "Mattaponi Photo Lab Officer Lt. Riley about 1960 - 62 courtesy June A. Thomas."
