Description

This color photo is of the entrance hall of a beautiful home, Mattapany. There are lovely potted plants at the entrance. There is chair rail height paneling on each side of a double wooden door. For the photographer's purposes, both doors are opened as far as they will go. Above the paneling on each side of the door are two vertically stacked narrow lights, with a circle of lead superimposed over two long crossed lead arrows in each light. There is a leaded fanlight in the rectangular transom window. The hallway appears to be carpeted. There is a long stairway on the right with carpet centered on the treads and risers. The handrail curves completely around at the bottom of the stairs. There are several chairs visible between this door and the one on the opposite side of the house. That door and window arrangement are exactly the same as the front door. There is a screened porch beyond the back entrance. There are two semi-elliptical arches in the space between the doors with electrical fixtures in the center of each one.
