Description

This 8"h x 10"w color photo is of Mattapany on the grounds of the Patuxent River Naval Air Warfare Center. There had been a terrific ice storm, so Lt. Riley took pictures of the shiny landscape. This view was of the north? side of the house. There were several branches scattered over the ice. The house was two and a half stories tall, but there were no dormers on this face of the roof. There were five large windows on the long side of the house and two windows on each side of a door. There was a large two story glassed-in porch on the left. On the gable end, there was a window in the roof peak, three? windows on the second floor, and one window on the first floor because there was a one story addition attached at that point. The gutters were painted a dark color, probably the same as the shutters. ******************************* Text on verso: "Mattaponi Photo Lab Pax Riv. MD Ice Storm 1960 or 62 Lt.
