5"h x 7"w black and white photo of the Mechanicsville Rescue Squad building in 1989. It was a large gable roofed building with an outside end chimney on the left and a dark louvered cupola in the center of the roof peak. There is an addition on the right back of the building; there is a roof stack near the intersection of the roofs. In the main building there are two shuttered windows in the second floor gable end and on the long roof are four gable roofed dormers with six over six shuttered windows in each. The roofline includes a porch that covers the entire elevation supported by eight posts that create seven bays. The porch is a single bay deep. There are three large shuttered windows on each side of the central door. The door has three small lights in the top panel and is flanked by a three light window and panel on each side. There is a parking lot directly in front of the building. The building may have been relatively new at the time of the photo because the lone tree is spindly and the lawn is sparse.
