Description

3 1/8"h x 5"w black and white photo of the Middleham Chapel in Calvert County. The chapel was a gable roofed brick building with heavy eaves and a wing on the right. The entry doors in the gable end were outlined by brick work in a round arch. The doors were wood, with outline panels of differing sizes. There were two pizza slice outlines in the semicircular space above the doors. There were single round arch windows on each side of the door; six over six leaded glass. Above the door was a round window outlined in wood with possibly a starburst motif in the glass. A bracket between that window and the round arch held a light for the entry. The wing on the right had a single round arch window with the same glass motif as the other such windows. The brickwork was interesting. There was a wrought iron fence with heavy pillars and light tracery between the pillars. ******************************************* Text on verso: in green stamp ink "348"
