Description

The Courts were selected to be photographed for a USDA Extension Service filmstrip about self-sufficiency on the farm--grow and preserve your own food to obviate the need for cash. This is a black and white photo. Photo 11. Mr. Court is milking what appears to be a Jersey cow. A second cow is visible in the background. There appears to be a cover on the bucket into which the milk stream is aimed; the cover helps to keep dirt out of the milk. This is being done in the open air, not a barn. It was probably too dark for photography in the barn.
