Black and white photograph 8"h x 10"w of the monument to the landing of the Ark and Dove. The monument is in the Trinity Church yard in St. Mary's City near the edge of the bluff by the St. Mary's River facing east into the churchyard. On a large rectangular granite base is a small rectangular plaque "Erected by Maryland State Society Daughters of the Revolution 1634 1934" on this rectangle is a large granite bench with two supports. Behind it is a large granite rectangle with a circle in the center of the top edge. In the circle is a shield of the United States. Below that is a bronze? plaque, weathered to teal, with a likeness of the Ark and Dove blown by the wind across the ocean. It is a handsome piece. As one stands to look at it, the eye is irresistibly drawn out across the water. This monument was placed during the tercentenary time.Collection
