Description

Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of an outbuilding, presumably at Mt. Pleasant, on Blewstone Neck in Saint Inigoes. This is a very small building with a still smaller white addition. A small shed roof dormer has two three over three awning? windows. There is no dormer in the addition. Both roofs appear to be cedar shakes. The main building is of rough sawn wide boards right down to the ground. There is a single door in the side facing the camera with a six light window in the upper half and a full screen door leading to a two part concrete slab. A wrought-iron plant hanger has been bolted to the front of the building. There are no windows in the two visible walls. There is a single window in the addition, a six light window that may not open. The boards of the addition are in a vertical orientation and there appears to be a concrete slab under the building. On the gable end of the main building there is a small brick chimney with a television antenna wired in place. There is a small garden cart at the foot of the chimney. Electric power appears to come to the gable end of the main building opposite the chimney end. If this is an original building, it certainly looks like a slave cabin, but it may have been reconstructed. ******************************************* Text on verso: "Picture 31 Outbuilding? Mt.
