2016.002.0201Scope and Content
1 sheet ; 26 1/2" x 29 7/8"
This drawing was dated September 17, 1943, designed and drawn by B. M. Cook. This version shows more of the identification of the drawing--its is E-38-2, sheet 1 of 2. The scale is 1"=20'. It was contract number 5984. It shows the road that passes St. Nicholas Church, the location of the church. the former location of the church, 8 plots enclosed by fences, tiny numbers and arrows to show headstones and graves, and circles for trees. Each tree is identified as to type and diameter, e.g. 12" black walnut. Cedar Point Road is indicated near the lower right corner and a symbol for magnetic north is in the upper right corner. A line of sewer stakes goes through the graves in the upper right quadrant. This version does not include as much of the information on the west side of the church. Many of the grave symbols are highlighted in yellow, many in pink, and a few in green. Sadly, there is no key to explain this. Mr. Lawrence had a special interest in veterans, so maybe the green ones are the veterans.
