3 1/2"h x 4 3/8"w color photo of the Newtown Manor House, residence of the Jesuits for many years. At the time this photo was taken, the building was still being used. It was a two and a half story full brick building between the Saint Francis Xavier Church and the shore of Breton Bay. It had an English basement. In this view, there was a small "fence" created by a large bush, a row of blooming daffodils, and a large bush that was likely a forsythia. The building had a gable roof, notched between the double chimneys on each end. The chimneys were inside end and partway down the roof slope, both front and back. There were no dormers in the black roof. On the second floor, there was a large center window, six over nine, with a five light vertical stack on each side. There were two six over nine windows, carefully spaced, on each side of the center one. A closed end gable porch roof at right angles to the main roof covered a three bay porch raised above the ground on brick posts. The porch floor was eight steps above the ground. There was a center entry door from the porch to the house. There was a five light transom above the door. Just like the upper floor, there were two nine over nine windows, carefully spaced, on each side of the porch. The lower floor had two visible windows, six over six. A tall flowering tree was on the left and a red barn on the right.
