3 1/2"h x 4 3/8"w color photo of the Newtown Manor House, residence of the Jesuits for many years. At the time this photo was taken, the building was still being used. It was a two and a half story full brick building between the Saint Francis Xavier Church and the shore of Breton Bay. It had an English basement. This was the west gable end of the building. This view shows the chimneys with the notched gable roof. One can also see how the walls and chimneys were raised at one point during the life of the building. On this gable end, there were two six over six attic windows between the chimney stacks and a six over nine window on each corner of the second floor. There were no windows on the first level. There was a black shed roof that ran the entire width of the building to create a four bay storage area. A white picket fence closed off three bays. Wooden pallets and other detritus was barely visible under the roof. There were many piles of bricks on the ground outside the storage area. Gable roofed high porches were visible on each side of the building.
