Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of the interior of Newtown Manor house. This imposing building was a Jesuit residence for many years. This view is in the basement. The plaster ceiling has failed and the lath is threatening to fall. There is an arched space in the center of the photo that may have had a stove in it--there is a hole near the bottom that has been plastered over. There are two shelves in the space holding boxes and a canning kettle. Unidentified items hang on the outside of the arch. Three shelves on the right hold canning jars and the remains of a barrel is on the floor. A rough box, like a wood box, has been built into the alcove on the left and unidentified objects are on the shelves above. Everything is dirty.
