Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of the interior of Newtown Manor house. This imposing building was a Jesuit residence for many years. This view is of the stairwell, entry hall, and back? door from the inside. There is a five light transom window above the door. There are two horizontal lights in the top of the door and two vertical lights below that. The chair rail is much darker than the wall. The stairwell is enclosed with dark paneling and the wall along the stairs is also panelled to chair rail height. There are nineteen steps to the upper floor. The stair treads are dark and the risers are a light color. The tile floor in the entry appears to have multicolored squares. The entry has chairs, a bench, hooks for coats and long cords hanging from bare bulbs. There is molding between the top of the wall and the high ceiling. One interior door is just visible near the back door. Everything looks bright and clean.
