3 1/2"h x 3 1/8"w black and white photo of one of the rooms in the Newtown Manor House, residence of the Jesuits for many years. The room was panelled to the ceiling in a light color. The molding at the ceiling was a darker color. There was a framed image, perhaps of a man and woman strolling, on the wall over a fireplace. The frame was very elaborate. The fireplace had an unadorned flat mantle that had three pieces of pottery on it. The firebox was walled in with a hole left for a stovepipe, but there was no stove. A basket with a high looped handle, such as would have been used for flower sprays, was on the floor in front of the fireplace. A crockery churn was nearby. There was a low four panel door on each side of the fireplace. An upholstered chair was on the left and a roll top desk on the right. There may have been a window there also. There was a ceiling light fixture with three visible bulbs.
